Discover our Classes
Each class will be theme-oriented and include:
  • A Non-fiction and/or Fiction book.
  • FUN, EDUCATIONAL activities presented through the SMART Board. (For more information, click on the link: The Core)
  • Short video clips.
  • A FUN, theme-related craft/worksheet.
  • Snack (theme oriented, if applicable).
  • Reading nook.
  • Take-home activity worksheet.

Through this enrichment program, children will be taught the following requisite skills:

  • Social Skills - learning to be encouraging to self, to increase persistence, and to increase ability to work cooperatively.
  • Attending - paying attention, being on task, and following directions.
  • Listening Comprehension - understanding the main idea and knowing when and how to ask questions to clarify understanding. 
  • Classroom Etiquette - Respect for teachers and fellow students.
While the main focus each week will be on
Pre-K and Kindergarten Common Core State Standards, topics covered each session will include, but are not limited to:
  • Science: seasons, weather, earth and space, plants, insects, flowers, animals, hibernation, etc…
  • Social Studies: community helpers, geography, citizenship, cultures, various holidays, states, presidents, etc…
  • Health, Well-Being, etc..: nutrition, fitness, hygiene, sports, cooking, etc...
Each session will include one or more of the following:
  • Scholastic Book Fair
  • Dr. Seuss’s birthday celebration (Spring)
  • Create own book
  • Create a video of a favorite book
  • Guest readers such as parents and local authors
  • Create a “Got Milk” poster
  • Grow butterflies, ladybugs, flowers, etc…
  • And much more!

All classes are kept small to maintain a positive and child-centered learning experience. If you have a group of children who would like to be in the same class, please let us know.  We will try to create a class based on availability.
